DNR FLOOD HAZARD MAPS RELEASED

Preliminary flood hazard maps for Rush County have been released by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), according to the DNR and county officials. The preliminary maps may be viewed at http://www.in.gov/dnr/water/6672.htm (you may experience a long download time).

When final, the maps will show flood risk throughout the county and determine whether property owners, with a federal or federally insured loan, are required to carry flood insurance.

Rush County GIS Maps

Rush County GIS is now online at http://rushinmygisonline.com. You can access parcel and assessment information, census block and track, incorporated/subdivision boundaries; buffer queries off selected parcels or general geographic locations. You can also search by parcel number, address, township, range, and section. Once you find the information you want, you are then able to print, email, and/or download. You will have to download a special software, Silverlight, to access. If you have trouble, contact Cathy Pratt, GIS Specialist, at 765-932-2077. Monday through Friday 8 AM - 4 PM.
