State Health Officials Urge Precautions Agains Zika Virus, Other Mosquito-born Illnesses
INDIANAPOLIS—State health officials are urging Indiana residents, especially pregnant women, to use caution when traveling to countries where the Zika virus has been detected and to take steps to protect against mosquito-borne illnesses at home and abroad.
Notice is hereby given to Rush County taxpayers that for delinquent property taxes due and payable in 2016, relying on the information from the Beacon GIS site will not be accurate until the new tax rates are received from the State of Indiana. The pay online does not include the additional 5% late penalty that was added December 11, 2015. For accurate tax amounts due, please contact the Rush County Treasurer's office at 765-932-2386.
DNR FLOOD HAZARD MAPS RELEASED
Preliminary flood hazard maps for Rush County have been released by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), according to the DNR and county officials. The preliminary maps may be viewed at http://www.in.gov/dnr/water/6672.htm (you may experience a long download time).
When final, the maps will show flood risk throughout the county and determine whether property owners, with a federal or federally insured loan, are required to carry flood insurance.
