Mosquitoes Carrying West Nile Virus Confirmed In Indiana
RUSH COUNTY, INDIANA (1 September 2015)--At the present time Rush County has not had a positive sample for mosquitoes carrying the West Nile Virus. As of August 271h, forty-two counties in Indiana have had WNV positive mosquito samples with three documented human WNV cases. The disease is one of birds, transmitted by mosquitoes, but can also cause illness in humans and horses. All citizensare urged to take precautions and check your property for any areas that harbor or provide a breeding site for mosquitoes.
Notice is hereby given to taxpayers of Rush County that for property taxes due and payable in 2016 and thereafter, local government budget notices, including budget and tax levy information, will be available at www.budgetnotices.in.gov or by calling the Indiana Department of Local

DNR FLOOD HAZARD MAPS RELEASED
Preliminary flood hazard maps for Rush County have been released by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), according to the DNR and county officials. The preliminary maps may be viewed at http://www.in.gov/dnr/water/6672.htm (you may experience a long download time).
When final, the maps will show flood risk throughout the county and determine whether property owners, with a federal or federally insured loan, are required to carry flood insurance.
