Mosquitoes Carrying West Nile Virus Confirmed In Rushville
RUSH COUNTY, INDIANA (18 August 2016). The Rush County Health Department and the Indiana State Department of Health have identified a positive pool of Culex Mosquitoes carrying West Nile Virus, on August 3rd. As of As of August 15th, forty-three counties in Indiana have had WNV positive mosquito samples with one documented human WNV case. The disease is one of birds, transmitted by mosquitoes, but can also cause illness in humans and horses. All citizens are urged to take precautions and check your property for any areas that harbor or provide a breeding site for mosquitoes.
